Event Description:
Beyond the AI Hype is a new webinar series from WAIE+ focused on design, development, and deployment of Responsible AI in the enterprise, government, and other large organizations. This monthly segment covers highly relevant topics like governance guidelines, consent-based training datasets, privacy-first AI models, GDPR-compliant AI solutions, and other robust alternatives to keep users, employees, and the public safe from the risks of these powerful systems. Join us on last Tuesdays at 11a ET for insightful conversations with global experts, where we will connect the dots between the theory and practice of adopting responsible AI at scale.
On Tuesday, August 26 at 11a ET, we have invited Merve Hickok, the globally renowned expert on AI policy, ethics, and governance, to discuss her book “From Trustworthy AI Principles to Public Procurement Practices” and her innovative Trustworthy AI Cards to put these principles into practice. Many governments have established national AI strategies and set widescale deployment goals for AI in the public sector without AI-specific procurement guidelines. This rapid pace of AI adoption in the public sector has led to an urgent need to consider the socio-technical dimensions and impact on rights and freedoms of individuals, communities, and society at large.
In this much-awaited segment, Merve will share her perspective on America's AI Action plan and the guardrails that decision-makers and practitioners must consider when conducting due diligence on AI procurement.
